Where Are Corporate Organizations Headed in the Future?

In today's digitalized world, the future structure of companies is an important topic of discussion. However, some predictions can be made. In general, it can be said that a company structure with more integrated digital technologies and automation will come to the forefront. As a result of this digitalization, it is anticipated that there will be a significant increase in the number of companies adopting the hybrid working model. The hybrid working model has the potential to improve work-life balance for employees, thereby increasing their motivation. In terms of company culture, digitalization and innovation are transforming traditional hierarchical structures, paving the way for more flexible and agile structures. Accordingly, it is predicted that the classic hierarchical work culture will give way to an agile work culture in the future. 


Various numerical data have been presented regarding how company organizational structures will evolve in the future. Some prominent trends and statistics are as follows: 


Hybrid Working Models: According to a 2022 study, with the adoption of the hybrid working model primarily for desk workers, 58% of companies have invested in improving the employee experience for frontline workers. These rates are expected to increase in the coming years (Gartner). 


Talent Management: As of 2023, 56% of employees reported applying for jobs outside their current areas of expertise. This indicates that companies need broader and more diversified talent pools (Gartner). 


Outcome-Oriented Management: In Deloitte's 2023 Global Human Capital Trends survey, 33% of participants stated that the lack of accountability for results by leaders hinders their ability to create value. In the next 2-4 years, leaders' ability to manage results will start playing a critical role for organizations (Deloitte United States). 


Increase in Agile Structures: In the future, it is anticipated that there will be a transition from classic hierarchical structures to agile organizational structures. This change will accelerate decision-making processes and enable employees to take on more responsibility (Gartner) (Deloitte United States).
